Leadership Competition
The first major event of the TSA year is the annual leadership training conference. Held in the fall, this conference aims to equip your student leaders with the ability to run a successful TSA chapter. Students are also able to network with students from all over the state, making valuable connections. Advisors have much to gain from attending this conference as well: the advisor training workshop is held concurrently at the same location, which is especially useful for new advisors.

Regional Competition
The regional conference is the first true test that our members face each school year. The regional competition typically takes place in Bradenton and includes students from Manatee, Sarasota, and Hillsborough counties.
Each year, before the state competition takes place, a couple counties in Florida TSA offer district-level competitions to students. These one-day events will be smaller than the state conference, but can serve as great learning opportunities, and offer the chance to get feedback on competitive events. While once limited to schools located in the host school district, these competitions are now open to all schools in the surrounding area as well. State Conference
The Florida TSA State Conference attracts the best STEM minded students from across the state. This years conference was the biggest to date with over 1,900 students competing and 37 middle schools represented.
The state conference and competition may be the most exciting event of the TSA school year. Thousands of students arrive in Orlando near the end of February with the goal of a first place in their TSA event(s). Students compete over three days, and the culmination of all the hard work comes at the awards ceremony on Saturday evening. Many TSA members across the country believe the highlight of the school year is the National TSA Conference—packed with competitive events and challenging activities that foster personal growth and leadership development.
